About the Program:

B. Sc. Nursing is a four-year undergraduate programme focused on developing critical care, advanced thinking skills, proficiency and values necessary for the practice of professional nursing and midwifery as mentioned in the National Health Policy 2002. The programme is streamlined to enable students to address the health needs of the nation, society and individuals. The programme prepares students to become responsible citizens by following a code of moral values and conduct at all times while fulfilling personal, social and professional responsibilities to respond to national objectives. B. Sc. Nursing programme involves classroom study, projects and assignments that enable students to gain practical knowledge of their learning. After the completion of the programme, the students are required to undergo a six-month internship to experience real-world clinical settings and learn from them. Candidates looking for more knowledge in the same field may pursue higher education for challenging career opportunities.

The aspirants are additionally trained to be job-ready by imbibing computer and interpersonal skills which help them in advancing their role. After successful completion of the program the students are enrolled for an internship that enables them to directly gain hands-on experience in esteemed organizations. Through a culture of patient-first the students are encouraged to possess unique qualities of character and spirit.

Eligibility:
  • The minimum age for admission shall be 17 years on 31st December of the year in which admission is sought.
  • Minimum education 10+2 class passed with Science (PCB) & English Core/English Elective with aggregate of 45% marks from recognized board under AISSCE/CBSE/ICSE/SSCE/HSCE or other equivalent Board.
  • Students appearing in 10+2 examination in Science conducted by National Institute of Open School with 45% marks.
Objective:

After completion of the B.Sc. Nursing Degree Program, the graduates will be able to:

  • Assess health status and identify nursing needs, plain, implement and evaluate nursing care for individuals, families and communities.
  • Develop knowledge and understanding of the scientific principles underlying the techniques and methods used in nursing for providing holistic nursing care to the sick in the hospital and in the community.
  • Demonstrate leadership and administrative skills in working with the health care team, community and others in the provision of health care.
  • Develop teaching and management skills.
  • Recognize the need for continued learning for personal and professional development.
  • Practice ethical values in personal and professional life.
